OREGON, USA — The 2026 general election is approaching, and Oregon voters who are not yet registered should be aware of the upcoming registration deadline.
According to the Oregon Secretary of State, October 13, 2026, is the final day to register to vote for the November 3 general election. Online registrations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time that day.
Who Can Register to Vote in Oregon?
To register in Oregon, a person must:
Be a U.S. citizen
Be an Oregon resident
Be at least 16 years old
Oregon residents who are 16 or 17 can register, but they will not receive a ballot until an election occurring on or after their 18th birthday.
How to Register Online
Voters can register online through the Oregon Secretary of State's voter registration system.
Applicants will generally need an Oregon driver's license, permit or state ID card number issued by the DMV. Those without an Oregon driver's license or ID can use the last four digits of their Social Security number along with a signature.
People who do not have those identification options can still use the online system. In that case, they will need access to a printer to print, sign and submit the voter registration card to their county elections office.
Other Ways to Register
Voters who prefer not to register online can complete a paper voter registration form and mail or deliver it to their county elections office. Oregon also allows registration in person at county elections offices and certain state agencies.
Check Your Voter Registration
Oregon's My Vote service allows residents to check their registration status, review their voter information, update certain registration details and check ballot information.
